Thanks Eren,
but it seems that the filters for all V8/10/12 engines from 680 to 1360hp are not available from MANN.
This is the part# search, just in case anyone else is interested.
Not that I'm really worried, anyway - their cost ain't as silly as for your filters, also when supplied by MAN.

o

That’s interesting as I have fitted one MANN and one MAN secondary fuel filter to each engine and I,am sure they are a common part ( for 2003 gen ) engines . fuel runs through the OEM first of the pair .From memory the common oil filter was out of a MANN box .It came with a new o ring and crush washers etc .Same black paint colour too , just different spelling .

I take your word for that PF, but we were actually discussing AIR filters of V engines.
Btw, their part number (51.08301-0016, for which MANN website reports "No equivalent") is the same as for the R6/800, hence I would think also for your engines. Is that correct? And if yes, did you find a MANN equivalent part?

One of my MAN R6-800’s won’t rev above 1500rpm when in gear have changed filters props on both engines seem as free as each other is there a sensor that can be causing this revs ok in neutral

Ask a MAN dealer equipped with the diagnostic computer.
That's one of the joys of electronically controlled engines: you can avoid wasting time asking on any forum.
It's just a matter of forking out some money... ?

I was about to suggest that .
It will be a sensor , there’s a load sensor on cylinder 1 the one furthest away from the gearbox .
If you look carefully it’s the only rocker cap with plugs n wires going in , or extra wires and plugs .
That explains the difference twixt revs in N and the 1500 cap when the props are spinning ie load is detected .

Could this have ( the wiring ) been disturbed ?
Have you attempted to run the boat a lot with fouled stern gear ?

Tell us how you became aware of this 1500 cap .

Are there any lights on , on the engine room ECU black boxes , or fuses popped up ?
Thats the place the MAN engineer will open and plug in his umbilical to read .
Mine has additional LEDs for stuff not on the screens as well as duplicate LEDs .

Seems very odd it’s dropped into a guard mode the max 1500 rpm without any warnings or clue from the screens or LEDs flashing from the box ?

Let us know what transpires after a MAN guy has plugged it in ?
