I've found a new boating area today. Loads of space, a couple of boat houses but nothing else on the water. There is a Marina I believe and we looked over nearly every wall to find her and Howard. But to no avail. Anyway, getting back to the plot. Theres a massive car park. A whole hill side and all free. Not only that but the inhabitants wash your car for free as well. Mind you they do seem to rearange the mirrors a bit when they scratch their heads or catch there horns on them. Security is provided by this big five bared gate across the road. You have to get out and open, then shut it behind you! Millions of folk were there, but on the other hand theres a few millions of square miles to go at so no body gets in the way. Added security is provided by miles of single track roads with passing places. So thieves would not get far.

Folk sunbathing on the beach just like at St Trophay?? Or Cans (cos it's easier to spell)/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Brill once you had negotiated the cow pats, Cos it was their refreshment area really!!

Tuther thing they've got is rocks, millions of them all piled up, bloody great cliffs of them, much better than the Grand Canion.

Icecream carts round every corner and a quaint pub in every village. No wheel clampity noncence, no pay and display.

And 25 deg in the shade. Who needs the Med!!

Once tried to sail a Land Rover there.

Ran aground after suffering engine failure. The Harbour Master was not happy, he used some words even I had not heard before. No one answered on Ch16 either.

On the whole couldn't recommend it.

The steaks at the Lister Arms used to be excellent though.

I did not meet the harbour master on this occasion. Pity about the land rover, did you manage to refloat her??

Afraid we only had time for a beer on the lawn at the Lister Arms as we had reserved a table at the fish and chip shop in Settle.

Used to dive at malham cove, under the cliff face, leads to a massive cave system within, that was a few years ago now, mind. With the cave diving/rescue group. Wouldn't do it now, frit!!

Blummin eck. Has Mallam Tarn got under water caves as well!! Bet they test secret submarines and Jimmy Bond type stuff there as well.

Malham cove is one of the largest resurgences in the Yorkshire caves area. A lot of water from the caves and potholes all over the place comes out at malham., just under that massive cliff face!

Oh yes

Tried calling the Life Rover (my mate in his motor ashore) for a tow but he said something ending in off.

In the unlikely event you ever need to refloat a Land Rover. The technique is to argue vigorously with crew for about an hour until engine cools. Remove bonnet. Sit volunteer (smallest crewman) on the radiator with feet firmly planted on cooling fan. Start engine and come out astern.

I'm wondering if it would make a suitable new home for Mucky Farter. Are the boat houses available for rent. Is it well charted, What about visitors mooring buoys and is there a water taxi.
