I think that some research should be done into this, tests in vary sea conditions etc, no point in draging SWMBO off on another sailing trip, just need to find some, shall we say suitable test subjects!

In rough to very-rough sea it can be a case of just hold on tight, (bit like top of a washing machine!)

I can cap that - in a firefly (12' ) in Chi harbour - went well till we ran aground with the board down. Talk about getting your "come-uppance".
