Makers Plaque Birchwood 33GT

AFAIK majority of Birchwood 33s were self fit out / non-factory so i guess it depends on who did the fit out. I'm assuming there's a hull number stamped somewhere though

When the boat was built there was no requirement to have any identification marks on boats although many builders did attach some sort of plate. Also as suggested many were home completed and probably no record exists that would help identify the boat.

Thanks for reply Mark. I wouldnt know where to look for it lol. I was told (may be incorrect) that factory fit outs were mainly right hand drive and self fit outs were left. I dont see why that would be the case though. This a right hand

A friend of my fathers had a 33 on the Thames and the builders plaque was directly above the wheel on the dash.

From memory the ‘GT’ version with full walk around decks, ie flat were the self fit out.

The ones with the raised aft cabin were built by Birchwood. Although I suspect there were some self builds too.
