I'm in the middle of installing an Alternator to Battery charger and am going to need 2 95mm tinned cables from the AtoB charger to the battery banks.

Looked online and can get the ring terminals and wire cut to length but don't think existing terminal crimper is up to the job of dealing with such big connectors. Does anyone know of anyone who will make up the cables with ring connectors or a reasonably well made ratchet crimper that will deal with such large terminals.

He has the crimps and tool can make them for you to the exact size. I bet if you took the cable he would do them while you wait.

Some good crimpers, lever arm type, for battery cable on eBay. I bought one last year for a battery wiring project, worked very well

PCS cables will make one offs as well as production runs, if 95mm2 cable is specified then it will be carrying a great deal of current so the termination needs to be done properly with a shop hydraulic crimp tool to ensure the best possible contact area and prolonged life. You are obviously keen on doing it right as you are getting tinned cable so best get the rest of the job done right.

Quite so, you couldn't do this any other way. Especially not with a hammer.

I saved quite a lot of cash by preparing the cables myself, the man came to the boat and just did the crimping. If you go to the Downloads section of my Bavaria Yacht site (see signature) there is a guide I wrote on doing the preparation. Note this was the first time I used Contralube 770

Definitely not the bodgit hammer method. But I have a handheld hydraulic crimper for £25 off eBay which makes perfectly nice joints. The first time I did a test one and then sawed it in half - the cut edge looked like a single piece of metal. I can't quite remember what size the biggest pair of dies are, but I think it would do 95mm^2.

Just been and read this. Seems a remarkable faff compared to when I made new battery cables for Kindred Spirit. I just hacksawed through the cables, trimmed off the insulation with a knife, slid the terminals on and then crimped them. I didn't have to cut any strands, nor see any reason why I might. I think the difference may have been that my terminals were slightly bell-mouthed, so they gathered the strands in instead of pushing them away. The open end of the bell was no wider than the insulation, so they still made a very neat end (I put heatshrink over for a really neat finish and less exposed metal for shorts, though).

When I do Ariam's new cables this winter I'll make sure I buy the same ones as last time rather than the ones like yours - cheers for the heads up

Any commercial vehicle body builder or even commercial vehicle dealer. They get yards of battery cable with tail-lift kits and have to make up the cables.
Or auto electricians, if they are real ones.

I bought one of these (http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SWRP625.html) as sufficiently good for my limited use, and found it straightforward to make decent crimps (bell-ended, heatshrink after). I thought it much more convenient to make them up as I went along.

Used a vice to crimp with, I think there is also a U Tube demo available.

I recommend that those who are suggesting using a hammer, a die in a vice, or a ratchet tool actually read the OP. This is 95mm² cable (as fat as your thumb) and requires a serious bit of kit to crimp it properly.
