Main Sheets query

I could not agree more Extravert. They are not the fitting for a well found boat unless small and daysailer in very sheltered waters. I do use them for other purposes though - one use that comes to mind is on the ships cat's tether to stop him going over the side (he is still working out how to unclip it /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.

Absoluteley - keel to leeward with sails sheeted home puts the guardrails underwater, then crank the keel back to weather - just like the good old 'scoop' recovery when righting a dinghy!

Oh, thought the electrically powered option might be quick enough to whack 'em back up onto the deck with the keel itself.

Probably best delivering the electricity direct to the MOB, the miuscle reflex would kick him out the water and restart his heart at the same time.

Now you're just being silly. I think it's only a 12V system.

original concept was that you up-end the main sheets when needed for use as a crane, and then you can use the jam cleats to assist in the movement. I think I am going to change to captive pin, for the speed and additional security that it gives me.
