following the assurances from mailspeed on this forum that things will get better I regret that things seem just as bad

enquiry response from mailspeed for c-map before placing order _

"These are not something that we hold in stock and that are ordered on demand depending on the plotter that these are for – generally the turn around on these is pretty quick, once we’ve ordered we received the item within 48hrs and in turn send to you in 24/48hrs."

ordered 29/3 - still no sign & no replies from emails !!!!!

never again

I ordered something from them a month or two back... arrived three days later, so its not all one sided.

Hello Mr Gooch

Mr Gooch do you have some kind of problem ? I wonder if you would like to contact me on 01305 787788 and let me know what the problem is and why you are being abusive and writing libellous things about my company on this forum ? That is if you have the backbone to contact me directly ? Regards JG

I don't see any abusive or libellous comments on this thread - stop using words to try and scare people as you'll be soon told where to go

Don't make me laugh John. Libel is when someone writes defamatory lies about another person/company. On two separate occasions when dealing with yourself you have told me lies.

1) In 2008 when i enquired about purchasing a Standard Horizon CP300 chart plotter i informed you that CactusNav were cheaper than yourself. You told me that the reason for that was that they would take my money and make me wait for weeks until they gathered enough orders to make up an order from the USA. You told me they dealt in grey imports. I called CatusNav of your tales and they assured me they had several plotters in stock and if i ordered one they promised it would be there the next day. I don't like being taken for a mug, so i ordered one from them and it duly arrived the next day.

2) In Feb this year i contacted you regarding a Raymarine digital radome. You informed me that you had no stock and said that Raymarine were also out of stock. The email exchange went like this :

Sorry, but three weeks is too long.

Regards, Paul.

Hi John.

We spoke earlier about a RD418D scanner, 10m cable and Seatalk hs cross over coupler. I'd like to order them, but can't get through on the phone, can you call me on ***** ****** please.

Regards, Paul.

The original emails are all still here if anyone requires to see them, complete with headers.

I contacted some other Raymarine dealers, who ALL told me that stock was readily available in the UK. Two of the dealers actually contacted Raymarine while i was on the phone who confirmed they had a large stock of the units in the UK and i could expect to receive one within 2 to 3 days. I could not find a dealer who had a good word to say about your company, this could of course be sour grapes on their part, although they didn't seem to have an issue with any of their other competitors.

A couple of them speculated that the reason for your delay may have been that you had account problems with Raymarine or that you were importing from the USA, as grey imports. This is of course pure here say and speculation and i of course have no idea why you would have told me the lie that you had checked with Raymarine and there was a 3 week wait, when they had ample stock.

You complained about negative comments made about your company by myself and another customer who was having service issues with you and had the posts removed. I doubt you will have the same stroke of luck on this forum, i certainly hope not. In an email response to him you stated that "you sold electronics at discount prices, if he wanted support he should have purchased from his local chandler".

Another friend of mine returned an Easy AIS unit to yourself for warranty repair/replacement around a year ago. He has tried repeatedly to contact you by phone and email and you have failed to reply.

Given the above, i personally feel that yours is not a company i would want to deal with again. When i have a good experience with a company i am more than happy to share that with others. I am equally happy to inform others of any bad experiences i encounter. The World is a much smaller place, thanks to the internet and forums such as this. Companies that perform badly have no place to hide.

I have no desire to contact you directly. That has nothing to do with backbone, i have no qualms about speaking to you personally, either on the phone or face to face and would be perfectly happy to repeat the above. I have no issues with you that could be resolved in a telephone conversation, therefore it would be pointless. I'm simply passing along my, and a couple of friends, personal experiences of dealing with you. Feel free to address any of the above points and if you feel that i have committed libel i am more than happy to see you in court.

Thanks for the email John. Libel is when someone writes a lie about you, if you'd care to demonstrate which of my comments are lies i will gladly remove them.
You asked me for a delivery on a Raymarine scanner which I replied will be 3 weeks as I did not have any on stock at the time. Sure enough they came in 3 weeks later and I have a couple left here now. I told you this immeadiately you enquired so I would not waist your time waiting and suggested you had a call around to other Raymarine dealers. You posted a comment on the WSF forum that I was grey importing Raymarine equipment that is why I gave you a 3 week delivery as I was buying them from the USA. Here is the link so everyone can see I am being truthful about this:

Don't forget John, you had those posts removed from WSF.

This issue is, in this particular point, that you said Raymarine had no UK stock and it would take 3 weeks to get one. Every single other supplier could get one from Raymarine UK the next day, why do you think that is ?

Can you advise when you will be returning the Easy AIS to Terry ?

Hi John,as a previous customer of yourselves on a few occasions and imo I cannot fault yourselves as a business,(I have had nothing but excellent service from yourselves),I thought you needed to be aware of this.

I am no longer a member of that forum as I really cannot be arsed with idiots.I think you need to at least respond as there appears to be some sort of witch hunt on there against yourselves.I run an angling forum and a Charter boat myself and personally I think WSF are putting themselves up for some legal action at times. How no one has marked that particular poster,Paul G's card yet I really cannot understand.

i was going to order a new sib and small outboard but i think i'll leave it if this is the treatment of customers who encounter a problem and have the temerity to complain

LOL, the poster you quote was banned from WSF

Anyway, i've pointed out the problems i had with you and i'll leave it up to everyone else to make their own minds up. I shall make no more mentions of WSF on here, issues there perhaps have no relevance to this forum.

Apologies to everyone reading this thread for somewhat hijacking the thread. My small comment seems to have gotten out of hand somewhat.

Just to clarify, my comments have not been about Mailspeed, they were in relation to a some experiences i had with different company.

Again, apologies if i have caused any confusion or annoyance to any members here, in particular, apologies to the OP for highjacking his thread.

That is nonsense Paul I speak with Raymarine on a daily basis and they gave me a delivery of 3 weeks. Yes there probably was stock in the UK but its on other dealers shelves not mine. That is why I told you to ring around. You also libelled a Raymarine Director on those posts. I also hear it is not the fist time you have had posts removed. You are a liar and a libeller. The libellous posts were removed. I rest my case.

As for Terrys AIS receiver he flooded it with rain water on his boat. He even admits that and this damage is not covered under the manufacturer's warranty.

Untrue, the stock was with Raymarine not other dealers. Yachtbits quoted me and phoned Raymarine while i was on the phone, Raymarine told them it would be with them next day as they had lots of stock. MES and Fox's also quoted and said 2 to 3 day delivery, including them getting it from Raymarine. Cactus also checked with Raymarine while i was on the phone and again confirmed immediate stock, they then went on to order me one and delivered it within a couple of days.
