mailspeed marine

I purchased something from them a while ago and they charged me £15 to send it to me in La Rochelle.
The stamp on the envelope said £4.50!!!!

It was a wrong item (I think misdescribed in their ad but am prepared to accept there were mistakes on both sides) and I sent it back and asked for a refund - they deducted a further £10 because I had opened the package!!!!

They then offered to send me the item I really wanted but still insisted on £15 p&p for a £4.50 postage and a jiffy bag...

At this point I took my refund (less the £10, less excessive postage charge, my own £5 postage back to them) and took my business elswhere.

A happy ending !

Received an apologetic e-mail from Mailspeed today. Apparently their courier "couldn't deliver", which is short-hand for couldn't be arsed to buy an A-to-Z I think. SWMBO had stayed in for the few days before Xmas as we had a lot of deliveries so it wasn't a case of us not being in ( should have got a card through the door at the very least ? )

I guess Mailspeed were just too short staffed with Xmas and LIBS to deal with my query.

Memo to self : If I start up an internet business I will watch my chosen courier like a hawk ...

I placed an order on 4th Dec for some Xmas pressies and it turned up on 27th Dec. I had chased them a week before Christmas and they told me it was being delivered the next day. They didn't take money until delivered though.
