Ever been intimidated or threatned by large dogs on boats?

Any bad or frightening experiences with aggressive dog breeds on boats or around marinas?

only from one of those chicken sandwich stealing, ankle biting, Jack Russells.

He's never been swimming before, said his owner. Must be a deep rooted survival instinct, then, said SWMBO.

It's funny he doesn't bite ya legs with a pair like them /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Whats the beam on your boat by the way? Looks huge for a 30 footer.

Your's seems a nice friendly looking dog /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've met a few boats with the likes of Rottweilers and Doberman's on board. One boat with three - scared the life out of anybody coming anywhere near the damm boat. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Dangerous too imho with kids in a marina.

Cripes, looks like yer surrounded by Raggies!
Strewth, yer needs a Gaurd Dog.
They'l ( raggies) be round for a cup of sugar and a seconhand tea bag if don't watch it!
Oops! that reminds Me.
I owe Searush a tea bag and a spoonfull of coffee and arf a spoon of sugar!
"Dozy git K" reminds oneself. Shut yer big mouth.
Oh, so K , Searush doesn,t frequent Mobo much, so No Telling Guys!

Anyway I had an Old Sea Dog on board Yesterday.
Anyway , He's gone back to the Isle of Man Today.

Must admit, an Old Sea Dog is good company.

Had an old ship's lifeboat once, and the Mutt we had at the time was dead handy.
Loads of space on the deck for Her to run around and chase the Shighthawks away!
No gwarm on "Mariner" but SWMBO reckoned there was enough Bull [ word removed] came out the Skipper!
Donning Me Sou-Wester as I type--- awaiting a Raggie reply. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It'll take more than a couple of coffees to repay you for the breakfast butty last year.

I tried taking a dog aboard once, but he couldn't cope with the GRP/ woodwork when heeling. He just could'nt stand up & was much happier in the water than on it. He was so clearly unhappy I never took him again.

I once saw one of those vicious Westies take on a narrowboat in Penton Hook lock /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
