The boat needs a total reform: cabin interior flooring, upholstery, deck paint, sails, ropes, etc. Very interesting price.
Also comes with a Honda OB. I wonder if the diesel works?

With all that work needed, I'd say it's a very interesting price - for the seller.
FromtheoneI nearly bought 10 years ago you have to use the heads with the door open unless a small child, needs interior ripping out but sails well

but sails well
Interesting. Most Macwesters seem to have a bit of a reputation as a motorsailor, but may be a bit like my old Snapdragon, which could surprise significantly bigger boats off the wind, but definitely needed the donk if the wind's in the wrong direction.

The bit about the heads sounds familiar, too. You could get in and close the door, but you needed to be a bit of a gymnast.

The best layout would be two settee berths with a heads in between and a small galley each side of the hatch but unfortunately the original plan included a dinette that made a double and to focsle berths…..a family of four😳

The Westerly 22 didn't have doors or walls...... and the chain locker was open to the forecabin resulting in amazing smells when mud was involved. We knew nothing better (then).

Yes, I remember thinking in the day that the Nomad was the epitome of luxury! Although it didn't look as cute. I also think it had an inboard engine which is a mighty improvement on the outboard.

Of course the Mac wester had all this stuff from the start.

Go for it Senor Wansworth! I am sure that both Westerly 22s and Mac 22s would suit you handsomely.

Westerly 22s have made impressive voyages, like 'Young Tiger' who sailed to the Caribbean in the 60's, and then up to the USA.
Part 1 is further down the page, below Part 2.

And here is an update on Young Tiger 6 years ago, after she was found languishing in a field in Maryland
'A friend in a field'
