During the day the day the main attraction is either the amusement arcades where these " rich " really spend £ er thats 1 all day, or the "haute couture "on display in the charity shops intermingled with the greasy spoon cafes.
Of course the nightlife , on the street drug dealers and migrant workers battle with the police, while the" rich" luxate in a game of bingo.

In the freezing onshore winds of January and February 2002 I was involved in the construction of an elderly persons sheltered housing complex in Sutton on Sea., not far from Mablethorpe.The thing was, it was being built by a southern council as it is much cheaper to staff and run it in Lincolnshire. We were convinced it was really intended to finish em off, as it nearly gave us hypothermia just being there. My " bit" was finished before the skin went on the timber frame, so it was only a few years later I saw the finished article.....which is actually quite nice. The site was more like The Somme when I was there.

Lincolnshire is the last place with a vestige of feudalism in its demographic. A few stinking rich farmers and landowners, a very thin middle class and professional strata....and everybody else who works in the fields or food processing plants for comparatively little, often organised by gangmasters who provide labour on tap.
I lived in Boston for 15 years, and getting back to The Dales again ten years ago brought home how comparatively genteel and comfortably off people are by comparison with rural Lincolnshire.

Occasionally used to go to a nightclub in Boston called Lizzy's, without exception one or more of us would end up in a scrap with the locals, the town motto was 'Do you like sponge? I'm not allowed anything sharp'

SWMBO went to court in Lincoln after witnessing a vicious attack and fight in Boston. Nobody was going to grass anybody up and the defendant was planning on pleading not guilty. At the last moment his brief must have told him it would go badly as there was a rock solid witness, and he changed his plea five minutes before the hearing. SWMBO had to wait in the corridor with some of the defendants friends and family, who were quite abusive..in a quiet sort of way. After the case the victims girlfriend whispered " thankyou" to SWMBO. Nobody else did. She was just an interfering bitch to everybody else........but that's Boston for you.
 
Skeggy, what a shithole, think about it; this was the place to go for those generally furthest from the sea and traders had to make sufficient money from a summer season to last through winter, then the con-cil trying to milk it for money and put up prices for everyone and suddenly site fees rocketed along with business rates and the only people who can afford it are large corporates who have seemingly taken over everything making money and are intent on fleecing everyone to make profits.

In 2010 we had a medium sized project that way so I decided to go back through Ingoldmells and look at the caravan site by Grandfather had his caravan on for years, this was the only caravan betwen the site shop and the toilets and when I went passed I spotted 4 caravans between his old pitch and the shop and 11 caravans between his old pitch and the toilets, Sardines are not packed that tightly, if he had his old pitch and you farted in his caravan those 5 caravans away would get the full benefit.

Its all "give us your money" now and I will never go again.
