lymington river

Good question. Dunno.

There is a channel navigable by dinghy that goes east from Lymington by the posts the ferries use as a transit across the mud flats, I'd like to investigate that one.

Other fun places to go, Beaulieu village and Ashlett Creek, Horse and Jockey at top of Hamble fun to get to on spring tide too.

Mucking about in tender is great fun.

Past the quay side, past the smelly fishing boats, under the railway and at the top end of 2 hours of water past 2 dozen sports boats, past a jetty into a lagoon, 250 meters into a wall.

About 1/2 mile all in.

Not tried to carry the dinghy over the wall.

Please note this is a Glastron with a 220 hp Evenrude, admittedly it had been shot up but would still have had more umph than your 5 hp Mariner.
All the same Good Luck ! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I went up the Yar the other weekend, as far as I could go. Very pleasant two mile run, ends with a bridge with about 2ft air draught. Plenty of water on a high spring.
