After the clouds cleared on Friday morning it turned into a beautiful day for a quick trip across to Yarmouth for lunch at the Bugle and a walk along the Freshwater Causeway before setting off back to Lymington. Our arrival more or less coincided with low water (which was as low as on Saturday). I thought some of the pictures I took as we came in might be of interest.

The first impressions were there is a lot more mud on display than usual and the channel markers look much taller:-

They hadn't bothered painting the tidal gauge all the way down:-

This channel marker was high and dry

as were these yachts in one of the side channels

'Cage Boom' was completely clear of the water

There was plenty of depth (for me) in the main channel but the ferries were taking it very steadily.

Back at the yacht haven even the floating toilet block had gone aground!

Interesting to see exactly where the channel is under the surface.

The new owner of seabird took ownership Friday afternoon and took her straight round to Lymington, his mooring is by the town quay, he was indicating as low as 0.4m (under transducer) so just under 1m depth on his way up to his mooring!
