Why not try and get a new Ram made out of this stuff? Looks very promising, perhaps Volvo should try it at source.

Re electrical bonding issue ( think steve suggested it)

If the pipes are steel reinforced I agree this could be the issue and replacing with a new casting my only solve this for a short while.

I had a reinforced hose that acted as a bonding.

first noticed an engine anode had wasted away in 5 months.
then the reinforced hose corroded away.

I replaced the hose and put 2 +2 together when I found one hull anode almost untouched.

The engine bonding had failed and the reinforced hose was acting as the bonding strap.

perhaps you should test your engine bonding.

with you on this one thanks. David suggested the same, see post #3. anodes are wearing as expected but I'll be checking the bonding when refitting for the point you've mentioned about pipes replacing the function of the bonding strips if not working as they should

thank you Volvo / Sealine for installing a KAD32 / DPE290 Steering ram return pipe with tie wraps underneath the engine... it was a joy contorting my somewhat rotund body to snip them in order to remove said pipe
