Luminous Paint for Compass Card

I have an old hand bearing compass which needs the luminous bit replaced. It is a small round bit of card stuck to the bottom of the compass body.

Has anyone done this or know of which paint would be suitable or eve if you can buy sticky labels with free luminous paint already on?

Wasn't real luminous paint banned years ago (radioactive) ? Maybe you mean the stuff which glows for a time after being exposed to bright light?

Dunno if those could be stuck under the compass to provide a light source. Infinitely safer than radium

You can get luminous powder (glow powder) and mix it with some superglue/varnish or could use "military grade" glow tape from ebay - I use it on my PLB canisters and it sticks well and survives being underwater and glows brightly once charged by some light
