Can American gas bottles be filled in the countries round the Med? : France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey?

Only if you have transport to a gas depot, usually associated with the larger towns and always several kilometers from the marina.
Gas is very cheap in Spain and a recharge for a 12kg bottle is about $7 american. Bottles and regulators are also cheaper than the UK but I don,t know about the states.

Last year I gave a gas bottle to an american vessel that had finished its provision. It fitted perfectly. Regarding the Med, you can replace empty bottles with full ones very conveniently in all major marinas (either in the marina itself or c/o markets close to marinas)
