I have a 24'' LPG hose with crimped ends. Have been to 2 chandlers only to be told they have the hose and jubilee clips which l don't think is suitable. Do you know of any suppliers that stock crimped hose for LPG.

look at
http://www.socal.co.uk/ Look in the "Toolbox"

http://www.bes.co.uk/

For low pressure connections hose clips, although worm drive clips such as Jubilee clips would not be my first choice, are satisfactory provided the hose is fitted to the correct ( Fulham ) nozzles
On the BES site you will find single ear and double ear "O" clips that can be crimped with pincers ( see page 65)
Also on the Socal site

Hi

We use a company called Pirtek (pirtek.co.uk), they come to us and manufacture the hoses required from their van.

Not connected to them only a good (and happy) customer.

It depends what you are using the flexi pipe on?, If its in the gas locker on the low pressure side then ok to use the pipe and suitable clips but on an appliance definatly not. Any fixed appliance should be connected by copper pipe.
Pipe should be marked BS3212/1 and be no more than 5 years old

Hi Paul
I'am not paranoid. The hose is rated at 6 bar, the regulator reduces the pressure as I see it. If the regulator fails then the pipe is subjected to the bottle pressure. Not sure how much this is on LPG bottle. I will be buying a crimped pipe that's for sure.
Paul would you put a pipe on with jubilee clips .

Yes i would use suitable clips, so would a lot of boat manufacturers. The pressure in an LPG bottle is very low.

If you seriously consider that the regulator could fail in this way then you would be well advised to fit a safety pressure relief valve that will vent safely overboard.

The Boat Safety Scheme allows worm drive clips on LP hoses! It does however say that flexible hoses should be kept to the minimum possible length. Perhaps you should be considering reducing the length not merely replacing a 24" long hose!

Rather than pressurise the pipework, regulators fail to atmosphere, which is one of the reasons that they are fitted in a vented locker. Propane liquifies at 8 Bar Butane at 6 Bar.
I think it was meant that hydraulic pipe companies make up the crimped assemblies.

There is no such thing for use on a boat, you can fit an OPSO (over pressure shut off) this shuts off the supply when it reaches 75mb

The regs say all work to be carried out by a competent person, if in any doubt then do not touch, its far more dangerous to have a leak on a boat than in a house.
