Just found on the Lowrance website updates for my Plotter (3300c) has anyone done this and did it improve anything?
will it give me any problems with my NMEA to the DSC and ST1000+.

Do you just stick the SD card in to the slot in the PC and clicky on the link?

l can understand what most of the updates are for but what do the fluid ones mean?:-

Updated Navionics support
Includes all features from previous updates, including:
Enhanced support for LGC-2000 GPS modules
Added support for LGC-3000 GPS modules
Many minor enhancements to the NMEA 2000 features
Improved Tides and Currents to compensate properly for Daylight savings time
Improved waypoint sharing
Modified the device configuration page in the NMEA 2000 device list
Added water depth parsing
Modified the configuration of tank sizes for the fluid level
Modified the Active GPS feature
Modified fluid level support
Other minor NMEA 2000 enhancements

Will only do this if you guys recommend.

thanks in advance

I have done past updates for my old 3500C and have just downloaded the update for my new HDS 7m.

The direct download may not work so use the alternative download given on the site. Put the SD card into the computer and download directly to the card.
Put the card in the map slot on the plotter and turn the plotter on. It will then update the firmware. It will change any settings you have made such as "heading up" or trails but it will not delete your routes or waypoints.
There may be an issue with the way the SD card is formatted, the site will advise if this is the case.

You may have to go through a different procedure on the plotter to update..ie other than just switching it on....it will tell you this in the download instructions on the site.

If your plotter has an external antenna LGC2000 ? there may be an update for that which has to be installed before the plotter update....it will say in the instructions if this is the case.

OK have just looked at the download site. You MUST download the LGC2000 update and install it before you update the plotter itself. Look at the red warning at the top of the site it gives this link .

As Dylan says it's quite straightforward. I've updated my 3500C as they became available. Has probably fixed some small bugs, but not the well-known tidal ht icon and Navionics issues! Probably worth doing anyway.

No problem with the updates .... get yourself a card - I advise you do not use your chart card.

Do the LGC antena update first ... then the plotter. They should auto load when inserted into slot and switch on.

I have started to get a problem where the plotter does not find a signal from the ariel. If I unplug the ariel when the plotter (3300c i think)is on then plug back in it works fine until I turn it off.
Does anybody have the same problem and if so does the update cure it.

fingers crossed.

Thanks Refueler wondered about another SD card, this now makes me more confident to do this, didnt want to c#ck-up my 3300c as my garmin 376c is no way near as good as the older Lowrance.

thanks again
