The wire between my Global Nav 310 and the aerial has been damaged near the aerial. The aerial is a sealed unit ( about 4" dia and 1" deep).

A replacement aerial will be about £150 !!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Does anybody know how to open the sealed unit? Can I replacew the aerial wire? What sort of wire must I use (it's very thin)? Can I get a refurbed unit?

The agents are SILVA up in Scotland. They are very helpful. Give them a chance to get back from the boat show and give them a ring 01506 406288.

I have always found Lowrance's email support to be excellent and worth dropping them a line via the website / technical support (other than the refurbed unit bit - which is a different thing!)
