Take plenty of fuel and motor it, but you'd better be confident about both your engine and fuel supply to do this.
But can he so be?

I was just thinking that, not as dramatic weather as was promised.Wonder how the OP is getting on if travelling this weekend. If he did shotley yesterday, then it would be a nice close hauled beat after Walton with just a couple of long tacks to Burnham with the tide in his favour soon.
Windy shows 17kts SE which is not too bad for some, but hell for inexperienced
The comments weren't unfriendly either. The OP seemed hell-bent on doing something foolhardy and putting himself (and others) in potential danger. That level of misdirected intent justifies an unambiguous response! I think it's possible he was a troll anyway. The comments were not exactly "friendly" in that they contained lots of stern warnings. Rather like my mum used to issue when I wanted to do something. So he has probably given up on the forum.
I tend to do the something similar, when looking up weather forecasts. I only look at the ones that show the weather I want. Not the weather I really am going to get.
In January he wanted to sail from Ipswich to Essex Marina - presumably he didn't do that either?
Oh and then Bridgemarsh....https://forums.ybw.com/index.php?members/shawnmaloney94.184484/#recent-content
He has not come back to the forum, so my comment in #27 may have been relevant. It’s now happening on this coming Wednesday according to a post on a Facebook group , I hope things go to plan .
