Louisa missing from Leigh - one on board.

Just heard on the TV that Thames Coastguard are searching for the Louisa form Leigh On Sea. They say it was due back today at 3pm, just one on board.

Lets hope.

Yes- just heard that on Radio Essex. Divers to be sent tomorrow. This is very close to home.

Certainly close to home, made me think when I heard singlehanded, 47, 4 kids, very close to home.

Anyone heard where the wreck has been found? Seems strange that a 40-footer should be overwhelmed close to home, I would not have thought it could have been that rough. Perhaps driven aground somewhere?

I've just had a call from the wife of the skipper who has asked me to remove the personal details from the forums, including name and address in this post.

I went to hear RKJ talk last year. Someone asked him where the most dangerous place to sail was. He replied "Wind over tide in the Thames Estuary can be as dangerous as anywhere"
