Very sad.
Anyone heard where the wreck has been found? Seems strange that a 40-footer should be overwhelmed close to home, I would not have thought it could have been that rough. Perhaps driven aground somewhere?
I've just had a call from the wife of the skipper who has asked me to remove the personal details from the forums, including name and address in this post.
There is no reason why this copy and paste from another site should not be on here but I'm sure you'll agree that in these sad circumstances it's a small request.
I went to hear RKJ talk last year. Someone asked him where the most dangerous place to sail was. He replied "Wind over tide in the Thames Estuary can be as dangerous as anywhere"
