Loud alarm clock

Evening all,


Have just bought a mechanical alarm timer from ebay. The alarm wouldn't wake the cat let alone me when taking 20 min naps.

Can anybody recommend loud alarm clock, preferably mechanical and preferably not digital

It isn't mechanical but it's loud. Very loud. Very very very f____ing loud. three settings, loudest is 120 decibels.

I went down the local kitchen shop and tried several.

Went for a small ticking mechanical timer. Not that load, but can put it on my oilies near my ear, and has always woken me. The sound of the ticking also helps - as you lay there you know that you have remembered to set it.

Yes - that's the answer. Five minutes of gurgling and hissing, followed by a shower of boiling water, and finally a klaxon in your ear.

didn't notice that when i looked at the argos description, ours is a wind up version with mechanical adjustment.
