the boat was saved. The day has been glorious down here so we decided to nip to the off islands for a walk in the sunshine in our motor cat runaround. Bit of swell running but no wind to speak of.
Dropped Swmbo and kids at the quay and anchored the boat and went ashore in the dinghy and off we went. Had a lovely walk and picnic, the sunshine even felt warm today and we were peeling off the layers as we went.
As we came back to the anchorage my son said is the boat s'posed to be there, 'ha ha' I said 'you don't get me that easily' and after a few more paces I saw that he wasn't kidding. She was just sitting there ten yards off the rocks, but lying away from them. So we moved the pace along a bit and at the next corner could see our dinghy being launched by others that had seen it already.
They retrieved the wayward runaround and secured her to a mooring, came ashore and gave me the glad tidings that my anchor rode had parted (I'll be using thicker rope in future, bloody UV). Anyway for the price of a few pints and of course the lost anchor (which is not really lost 'cos I know exactly where I put it) we still have our little motor cat and could get home.
All in all a nice day out on the water in January, but could have been a more expensive one!!

Glad that the boat is ok and only 'pride' is slightly hurt. Been nice in Surrey as well when in the sun. But out of the sun kneeling on concrete trying to make a new gate was bl***y cold. Good thing is that the evenings are starting to draw out. Must start to panic about the work to be done on the boat before launching.
