I was down on the boat yesterday and pluged the chartplotter in, no position

I checked the power to the receiver, all seems to be Ok

Perhaps HMG have shut the satellites off to stop Sadam from using GPS.

Wishfull thinking, looks like more money required.

Why did I buy this boat?

Smelly toilet pipes
Smelly petrol tank/hoses

Fixed the cooker, toilet, engine overheat, shower sump pump, etc

Its only four and half years old, but Four Winns/OMC were going bust at the time so maybe corners were cut.

Better than spending money on decking, landscape gardens and changing rooms at B & Q every weekend, isn't it?

Some GPS's don't hold their last position if they have been switched off for longer than 3 months.

To sort it out, you need to leave it on for longer than 30 minutes so that it can re-initialise itself.

If that fails, RTM

Start from the beginning remove powewr lead, make sure it is clean and dry then plug the antennea in and switch on, initialise it yourself or let it do a cold start this could take up to 30 minutes.

smelly toilet pipes usually caused by organisms in sea water in inlet pipe dying,to get around in flush toilet with seacock closed therefore emptying pipe then flush with fresh water using bucket or kettle full of water .Alternatively fit £36.00 flushing kit from Lee Sanitation.

My Garmin 120 lost its position after a few months out of use, there was a special start up sequence, which if I recall correctly, involved pressing ENTER and then POWER. But it will be in the manual.

Or change the hoses, as they become permeable over time. Make sure to replace with proper saniflow hose.
