At lunchtime Saturday we motored from Stone Heaps to Shotley and lost our Avon dinghy en route.
It has the name Megan Louise and t/t Traigh painted on it.
Probably under Trinity wharf by now but if anyone finds it there will be a reward.
Reported to Harwich Haven (in case the RNLI look for bodies) and Levington Marina.
Wife has already pointed out that it is entirely my fault!

I recommend you tell Dover Coastguard. It is they who will initiate a search if a dinghy is found and there is even a slight chance there could have been someone in it who went overboard. Harwich Haven or marinas may not get to know about the search until it is well underway.

I have reported this lost dinghy to everywhere I could think of by telephone. But phone messages are easy to overlook, so I have tried to send emails without much success. Does anyone have email addresses for:
Dover Coastguard
Harwich Haven Authority
Ipswich Port Authority
Clicking on the "contact us" link just seems to send me off into oblivion. This could be a problem with my pooter.
I can understand that they don't want to waste time with yachties who can't tie knots, but I would like to be able to say that I have reported the loss.
