Hi,

I'm looking for locks to secure my cupboard doors when in rough weather. I don't really like barrel bolts and am looking for a smart, low-profile alternative. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers,

Jamie

Hey Clive and One A. Sorry, I should have explained: we have (metal) finger latches already. They've served us well in crap weather but I'm looking for something in addition to them, just to be double sure. I think I'm coming back round to barrel bolts, tbh. Easy to fit and pretty secure. I'm just not keen on the look of them but function has to rule over form :)

The advantage of barrel bolts is one doesn't have to stick one's finger through, which may be broken if the boat lurches or jumps off a wave; I have never liked the finger through jobs for this reason.

I have some of these in combination with ball catches.

Push the knob in to lock the door positive but leave the knob out when in dock so the door is easy to open with the protruding knob
