A friend of mine is looking for a trawler style semi displacement motor boat that he can keep in the Med.
So it needs A/C and generator etc.
Length needs to be less than 16.5m

Currently he favours Grand Banks but is interested in any others around.
Budget is about £300k

Any ideas

Being doing similar
My friend needs to be able to cruise at 16 kts because of the Irish Sea waters
From my research of late 300 k will get a right proper 42 semi displacement type
Or is a displacement vessel more suited to your friends needs?
Krogan?
Nordhaven, probably too much money?
It's all interesting stuff
I Do like boat searches
:D

Tarquin Trader worth a close look plus some of the larger Aquastar models, probably not enough dough for a Nordhavn or a Fleming, but hey ho one can dream.

Tarquin's are getting on a bit. Aquastar types although there is no doubt about their seaworthiness, accommodation is a compramise. Any Corvette 34's nocking about?
:rolleyes::nonchalance::D

Thanks everyone.
The spec is now narrowing a bit.

Can be fully displacement.
Must have aft cabin.
Must have aft entertainment area as well as flybridge
3 cabins inc aft one
Budget now less than £250k.

For some reason I am on the mailing list of this Med based broker and they keep sending me details of this GB49 http://yachtingaddress.com/fr/bateaux-doccasion-a-vendre/motor/320-grand-banks-49-classic.cfm. Seems to have everything your mate wants including, it seems, stabilisers

A bit of a left field choice but it might be worth checking out the Elegance marque. There are plenty in the Med. Made in Taiwan but sold by Drettman, their German dealer. The older ones are SD hulls and they should be well fitted out for Med cruising. I have looked over a couple in my time and I was quite impressed by the engineering I saw, at least on the boats I inspected

Hi,

Here is the prestigious builder Lyman Morse (US) 48 feet SD "Trawler". The price of about € 160,000 will allow a good start for rebuild etc. boats if needed(budget about 100 000€), In my opinion, I think it is a really spacious and functional lay out with regard to its size. In Europe, there is maby only another Lyman Morse motor yacht when compared to the boats in the US market, the price is more than cheap this unik boat!
