Looking for a Corvette 32

OFGS

Cfrew = Claire, formerly ybw, now ed assistant at MBM.

Brendan is almost certainly spot on, namely I'm sure Carl is trying to track down a Corvette is said price bracket for some reason or other.

So hence no commercial motive.

Yes, some of our regulars nuzzle up close to, and a bit beyond, the rules at times. What you don't see are the times that gentle knuckle raps are applied. Generally try and strike balance between rules and what can sometimes be useful involvement. Am more than happy, Barry, if you want to help others with upholstery info and, in doing so, want to state your credentials. If on the other hand you, or anyone else, engineers excuses to plug products then dim view taken.

Re: OFGS

Is the problem here that many forumites read the "Corvette 32 For Sale? " header without reading the text or noticing that there is a question mark at the end

Not trying to sell a Corvette 32, just looking for one.

I've noticed that many forumites dive in without reading a thread or post, which is far more irritating than those that do a bit of constructive advertising.

Re: OFGS

The reply was made with tounge stuck firmly in cheek. I don't promote my wares here with a little clickable link in my signature like some. Have in the passed pointed peeps in the direction of companies for various products materials etc.
I see this place more as a self help group and a pool of knowledge rather than a free advertising medium.
More than happy for you to pull the post if you see fit.

Sorry folks to spoil a good story....

........But Carl is neither selling nor buying!

I have some friends with a very nice Corvette 32 for sale and put them in touch with Carl but I think he just wants to do a 'used boat test' article for the mag involving a Corvette rather than make a personal purchase!

Re: Corvette 32 For Sale?

I to visited the stand at London, Boat Showrooms and was welcomed by a very friendly and switched on sales man, russell I think his name was. Answered all my questions but did go on to say he was tired and fed up with stupid questions from the great British public. I can only agree with him after all with over 210,000 people visiting the show its up to him to filter out the the true contenders. Look at it this way if you had no intention of buying a jag woudl you go into the show room and asked a million questions just to pass the time of day. I get the immpression thats what a lot of people tend to do at these shows so they deserve the cold shoulder.

If you went to Duseldorf you cannot event get on the smallest of stands to see the boats. Take Sunseeker, they WILL let you on the boats at London if you are prepared to wait. Dusseldorf you cannot even get on to the famous blue carpet with out passing the are you worthy test.
