Jon motored a "nobby" (Liverpool bay prawner) from Liverpool to Boston via inland waterways & ultimately to the Suffolk Stour at Mistley.

Be careful near Leeds.......I worked near the canal in Leeds a few years back when I lived up there- was a bit rough at times. But, it is a beautiful city, likewise manchester and Liverpool, which, i think is navigable from leeds. Was an article in PBO YEARS ago about someone who did the whole trip. 'flying' bricks in Manchester springs to mind!
