Long Sand Head Windfarm

I was told the other day by someone in the business that there'd be no offshore development on the London Array probably before 2011 so they are going to have to work hard to get it finished by the Olympics (though what the connection is I don't know - will they power the main stadium from it, do you think? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif).
But they have already done some of the National Grid mods for it near Faversham where the cables will be coming ashore.
It's not being built "on the Long Sand Head", it's basically going to be all over the Long Sand from Fishermans Gat NE'wards, also straddles the Knock Deep and takes out the Kentish Knock as well.
Where do these people get their facts from? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

On the last survey, Foulger's Gat was migrating very very slowly north-east so the corridor they intend to leave through the array may well become useless.

2012 seems very ambitious timescale given how long the Gunfleet has taken so far.

As to your comment Dick, look on the bright side, there would be no use for your excellent site, if these people got their facts right! And they won't be able to power anything from it on a calm day in the summer!
