Landed on Long Island Poole Harbour over the weekend with my dog on lead, the tide was about an hour off mean water high, so plenty of Crown foreshore to walk on. The warden for long Island approached me, I said I was exercising my right to walk on the crown foreshore and that I didnt intend to trespass on the Rempstone Estate. He was very friendly, we had a chat and I continued to walk along the beach, but I must say my path was blocked by the enormous barge moored on the beach that he stays on, I would have either had to walk out into deeper water or trespass to get around it, so I turned back and had a paddle in the very warm waters off the sandbar which I must say used to be full of children playing, but now I think most people are afraid to land there, put off by the NO LANDING signs. I wish they realised that they are permitted to land on the sandbar up to the mean high water mark which is about 6' from the grass bank so theres plenty of space for kids to play on the sandbar which is about 85% crown property. use it or lose it.l
