I am planning to visit the Boat Show to price up a new main sail for Sirenia.
I think I will be going on Thursday 11th as I am in London for a site visit then.

I have purchased 2 tickets using the buy 1 get 1 free offer.
I only need on ticket so I have a spare.
This is a separate ticket that can be used on any day including the preview day (10th Jan to 14th Jan)
I would be happy to pass this on to a forum member.
1st come 1st served.
Reply to this post and PM me you e-mail address.
The ticket is a pdf that will need printing out.

I'm heading up with my partner and Dad, so the BOGOF isn't ideal for an uneven number of tickets.

I would happily take it, and will gladly transfer 50% of the cost to you for it.

Hi Jasper.

The ticket is yours.
Not looking for payment .
If you want to pay some for it please make a donation to RNLI.
Hope you enjoy the show.

You may struggle to find a decent bargain

In the recent years there seem to be few bargains at the boatshow - at least not that I have noticed. My wife had a deal on boat shoes - buy one pair get another half price .
On the whole prices from retailers are the same as every other day of the year. However there is potential small benefit in not paying for postage.

RYA members can obtain a free boatshow ticket.

Clive,
Re sails rather than London Boat Show. I went through the process this time last year of buying a new main. Found I was getting much better quotes from other EU countries than from the UK.
Finally bought a main from a French sailmaker located near Paris for what amounted to the cheapest UK quote [Crusader] less VAT and delivery. His brand was Horizon sails but I can't find his details at this moment. Very pleased with what he did. Works well and certainly gave me better performance.
Teh second best quote was from Denmark, Resen Sails and very close to Horizon, details here: http://resensails.eu/sail-pricelist

Think yourself lucky.
Crusader cannot manufacture A piss up in brewery.
The owner is a nuteet

I never had a problem. Excellent service, best price, great aftercare.
No relation.

+1
I met Paul Lees by chance in my marina a couple of years ago. I told him there was a slight issue with my stackpack. He took photos, had it collected, repaired and fitted different battens and returned it to me FOC and it was at least 4 years old. Great service. Sails are lasting very well. Would use them again.

Hear what people are saying, and used crusader on a recommendation, however he let me down and have not a good word to say.
Ordered a radial cut sail and cross cut delivered, too long in the luff so could not tension as was block to block, on complaint a crude cut off to shorten.
Sail could not be sailed furled as forestay would flog, was flat as a pancacke at bottom and open at top .
Sail had to be stored very tight if not the fullness at top would open and a big ballon of sail opened.
Asked repeatedly and politely to have sail fixed, but the man would not play.
Have voiced dissapontment on this forum before and had a 4 page essay on what he has done and threat of court action.
I am well aware that people have had good sails from crusader, however I had a bad one.
The cut of a sail can be subjective and hard to prove; but a furling sail that can not be sailed furled, and a radial delivered cross.
Good news is I moved to a different manufacturer, they have had a shed load of money and I am more than happy with there service .
I felt that Crusader gave me poor service, maybe I do the company down, but I can only say as I see.

I've not seen any feedback on the show yet. Maybe I've missed the thread. But has anyone been? Whilst I don't have a shopping list I may visit on Sunday.
How has the three shows in one gone down? i.e. "Bespoke London" and "Boating & Watersports Holiday show".

I went yesterday.
The '3 shows in one' went over my head somehow, didn't notice.
Lots of mobos, few sailing boats. Chandleries, just the prime suspects. A few sailmakers. Raymarine, Garmin etc as usual. Lots of 'other stuff'.
If your prime reason to go is to look at lots of boats and boat equipment, then I'd say it's no better and no worse than last year. I thought the layout seemed better but can't really express why, just felt that way. Seemed quite busy.
I had a good day but that was mostly social.

I'd agree with that - didn't notice other shows going on.

Got a few bits that local chandlers didn't have, the man from Torqeedo said he'd send me a free kill cord when I complained they only provided one, spoke to the ever helpful Jeckells about fitting a grabrail on my sprayhood. Didn't see Cantata but I didn't go to the bar. The only rip off is £20 to park.

...........Didn't see Cantata but I didn't go to the bar.....
Astonishingly, nor did I..:ambivalence:
Actually I spent more in the car park than in the show, what the the £20 parking, plus I'd arranged to meet someone selling a boaty bit, we'd agreed to meet there to save on the postage!

I had the chance of a last minute trip up with a mate (inc free ticket), and not having been since 2011 wasn't expecting much. I have to say I wasn't disappointed. I'll leave it another 7 years before I go, if it survives that long. Not many people there, even more "totally uninteresting stands" than at Southampton (Electronic Pianos FFS!!! and tables made out of a tree trunk for £6k. We entered the show at 1155, and were in the car driving back at 1430...
