I always have problems with fouling or poorly reading log impellors both in the Solent and Greece. Has anyone experience with modern solid state devices? Who makes them and what about fitting them in terms of size of hole needed?
Sorry, have never had a fouling problem in the (Eastern) Solent.
Log reading - that's a different matter: boats never go as fast as you would like . . .
Surely the fitting of a log is the same regardless of type. Our old seafarer electronic log was replaced by a stowe in the same hole. Needed a new skin fitting but that was only a few hours work with most of the time spent cleaning.
