Lockable fuel cap

A bit concerning that ppl are willing to steal such low vols ... where was the boat when the fuel was nicked?

Just had a thought - would it be possible to put a ball valve in the filler line - as ours is in a locked locker it would essentially prevent anyone from putting a tube down to syphon anything - and no worries about keys (lost or otherwise) and locks (which usually jam up when you don't want them to)

I have fitted a pipe Y strainer into the filler lines of both my diesel tanks and mu water tanks.

This prevents syphoning as wall as bits of crud doing into the tanks.

Not a daft comment - ours does have ..... but some might have a vent built into the underside of the deck fitting ...

Vetus have a gadget that goes in the filler pipe to stop this very problem.

The Vetus website is desperately slow and awkward to use, you're better off with an olde worlde paper catalogue thingy.
