Suppose it seems like you have to set off this weekend (no chance) or if not it seems a long wait...praps better by truck? Shame. Much cheaper tho, after all "incidentals" ...

maybe holiday season for lock keepers...do you know a lock keeper called.. Garry Lock..is he still working the locks??

Sounds as if you won't be going anywhere for a while - unless we have an unusually dry Christmas. So much for an annual launch permit!

Was on the river the other night with a mutual friend (Lower Basildon to Catherine Wheel and back - much later!). Seemed very placid compared to this time last year (river & pub), so you may be lucky yet.
