No. Just a short pleasure cruise. We're setting off in earnest once Sam is settled in Uni. Sept/Oct time.

Right, I should be around. Where are you actually going to, is Exmouth a port of call or somewhere near?

I'm leaving that bit to Mr B. We'll be cruising around Devon/Cornwall. As long as i get to see some yummy surfers in Newquay and get taken to Rick Stein's for dinner, I'm easy.

Padstow is a lovely harbour Pauline but the wrong side of Lands End. Would not bother going round there less wanting to go to Wales or up the Bristol Chanel. Very boat hostile area. Say in the South with M Farter and LJS.../forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: rick stein etc

I would book early - the place is often bombed out.

Fistral Beach (nr newquay) is the place to go for surfing - and they have competitions from time to time - take binoculars.

Re: rick stein etc

It's already booked tcm. And one of Mr B's Christmas presents was a Red Letter Day at Rick Stein's cookery academy. I made a booking at the restaurant at the same time.

Re: cooking academy

hm, but doesn't that mean you have to eat the old muck that you've been making all afternoon?

Or... praps you could make something really excessive- like including a whole OUNCE of fish in a main course costing 25 sodding quid?
