Thanks for the update. Knew it was coming, I suppose. Let’s hope it really is 7 weeks or thereabouts.

Took these end of last week. Outer lock gates off (sitting in the adjacent industrial estate car park!) - a disconcerting sight. Wonder what it'd be like in there at high tide with a strong SWerly?!

So what? Cardiff bay locks are closed down once again by the welsh "government" - I think its been 4 weeks so far ( this time) with at least another 3 to go. No repair. Just part of lockdown.

Unusual for Liverpool though. Lock continued to operate throughout C-19 (there are some commercial users - wind farm tenders in particular and also BluePoint, a commercial yard). Closure for servicing happens around every 10 years (not sure of this, but IIRC).

We've been allowed in and out all year with no restrictions to my knowledge although only been out twice for Dayskipper training.
Lots of commercial boats been in and out though.

Hope they clear the build up of silt whilst doing the gates.

Not bothering with a cofferdam this time then, must have cost too much last time.
Think they’re just working on the gates this time... CRT also removed the gate between the Albert Dock and the Canning/Half-Tide Lock. Perhaps they got a job lot on gate servicing?! (Actually one thing CRT ought to be setup for is lock gates!)

Strange to think the entire dock complex is now behind two single pairs of lock gates.

I think they used to have a dedicated lock gate depot in Yorkshire, for service and repair.
