Blimey, with a sofa that long you could take in lodgers.!!!!!

There are cheaper drying moorings, or berths down here that are available and probably nearer to your £130 per month.

I thought the 7ft was wrong at first, i had to double check my measurements !, but the current built in seating area is 7.5 feet long, so i can get a 7 foot sofa in there and a little table to put my coffee on beside me

I am expecting about £200-£250 for a south coast mooring in a cheaper area, but want to be near the port solent area, i was down there for lunch last weekend looking around and watching the boats comming and going in the port solent marina, its a very nice area down there

I once stopped off for a w/e at Portchester Sailing Club and went into the Sailing Club for Sunday lunch - very nice.
Landing and departing in dingy was difficult as I recall.

Newly livaboards here too but have no advice to offer just yet. Will be following your site so we too can get some tips. Lots of luck
