Three boarding school chaps on a boat for while. Title has to be along the lines of 'Buggering Up The East Coast".
From Lowestoft to Anstruther is a bit short on marinas anyway if you don't go up the Humber or Tyne! It will be character building; as my crew said to me beating from Wick to Stromness in force 6, "I'm not sure how much character I have left! I trust you boarding school boys have plenty!
That confused me as well. In spite of what I've heard before nobody, including Aberdeen CG seemed to know "Ainster".
Are you on AIS?
What boat name?
And don't go too close to Dover harbour walls or you'll get nicked by Port Control. I seem to remember that they want you at least one mile off unless you are going in.
The hardest thing will be not to call into Wells.....once you do you know you will not want to leave again
the idea is to take food for six days and only come ashore of the weather turns horrible
Am I the only one thinking this sounds like an optimistic pace for a Centaur?
probably not the only one
it is better to travel in hope than not at all
if we can average four knots that is 100 miles a day
at least two of the three of us could do with losing some weight
That's just what you need. Simply station the off-watch party on the windward rail and keep all the rags up. WCPGW?

off watch will sleep on the upside
Have you fitted a lee cloth then?
marinas of the east coast
where can I start?
Burnham, Orwell, Lowestoft, Humber, Wear, Tyne, Hartlepool, Amble, Seaham, lots and lots of great shelter along the East Coast - it is far from being the god forsaken place some think it is
then there are the delightful places.

If there are lots of easterlies about at departure time then why not turn right and head up the Irish Sea and through the Forth&Clyde canal ? If you stay out to sea then you'll still have the coastal delights to enjoy on the way home...
Methinks Burnham and Orwell are south of Lowestoft and diversions into the Humber and Tyne will add distance, but true Hartlepool, Amble or RNYC at Blyth are marina options. Quite agree that there are delightful places on the East Coast but I'm not so sure there is lots and lots of great shelter along the East Coast. Not if it blows hard from the East there isn't! I've sailed it.

Centaur has quarter berths both sides
but I think that the weight of one slumbering bloke will not make that much difference
