Just a warning for those with their boats moored on the Itchen or there abouts, our boat was broken into last night some time, they forces the door open and had a good rummage round but have taken nothing. This is the second time in 2 months, they have also done one of the other boats on our moorings and tried to sink a couple of dingys by leaving them with the hose in!

I have reported it to the police and SOCO are coming out tommorrow to take the fire extinguisher that was ysed to lever the door open for finger printing.

I am now on the look out for an alarm!!

Hi, Also on the Itchen, up at Cobden Bridge. We had some break ins late last year but nothing lately. There was a local gang of youths who were making a nuisance of themselves, but think they got the message after being chased off a couple of times.

Sitting up on a Friday or Saturday is maybe worth a try but you have to be VERY careful as one can end up on an assault charge just because one of 'em trips on the pontoon and bangs his head, if you get my drift.

Good luck and keep the local fuzz informed, they are responsive if they can escape from the usual weekend drinking, antisocial problems etc.

Hi, Well sort of. The 286 that was there until about 6 weeks ago I share with a friend, and it is now on a Hamble mooring almost opposite HYS. My old Fairey is normally moored right behind a Princess 45, but that has gone out for this weekend. So am currently in pole position on the outside pontoon. It is the Fairey engine room that I am part way through painting. I hope to complete it later today before nipping home again to watch the Grand Prix. I have some painting to do monday, then it is engines back in tuesday.

If you have nothing better to do, nip over and take the mickey, it will give me an excuse to put the kettle on. Right off for some kip now as its 1am Cheers, Paul
