Feel as tho' I'm putting one of my kids up for adoption, hoping it's the right decision and that the new owners will treat her kindly.
She's been a superb boat for us, never missing a beat in the 5 years we've had her. It wasn't an easy decision to make but now we've moved within spitting distance of the marina, we just don't need the same level of accommodation or space that she afforded us so we've downsized significantly to a MF895. This will be the first brand new boat we've ever bought not to mention the first O/B boat we've owned and on that note...if anyone can recommend a good and reliable engineer for servicing Yam outboards around the Solent area that'd be helpful, thanks.

Congratulations on the sale Lisa.

I assume some element of warranty with the new outboard? If yes how many years?

Otherwise Tom Parker remains your best mate :)

Thanks Raf. I would expect so but I don't know the term. We'll be talking to Burton Waters over the coming months as the handover date gets closer. I didn't realise Tom did o/b's. He used to do a lot of our servicing so I may give him a shout.

Just a new chapter, now you have to wait for the MF to get built still decorating and gardening beckon :)

A new chapter indeed. The wait suits us as you're right...it'll give us time to get things done on the house. (not to mention saving us a fair chunk in berthing fees!)

Congratulations on achieving the sale L. People often say the best 2 days of boat ownership are the buy/sell days but I completely disagree. I've been sad handing over all of the boats I've ever sold and I completely get your child/adoption comment.
Anyway, new chapter!:encouragement: The Yamaha will be so reliable you'll need to try hard even to remember to service it. I only ever changed one part on all the yams I've had and that was because I misdiagnosed the problem

Thanks Jon.
Nice to hear that about the Yams. Good job because we'll only have the single so it needs to be reliable :).

Sadness but a new chapter indeed, lots of opportunities to use the new boat in ways that wouldn't have been possible on a non-outboard boat.

With the house move combined with the MF you may just have achieved the holy grail of being able to see that the sun is shining and get straight onto the boat rather than having to plan ahead.

Do you have a name yet ...LisilouToo ?

Name is a bit of a dilemma in that there really is little room to place it on the back and I'm not a lover of names on the bow so 'Lisilou' will be no more. However...3 or 4 letter name suggestions welcome. (when I say 4 letter...you know to exercise restraint :D)

Congrats on the new boat.. We downsized to a MF 695 two seasons ago now and have to say the Yamaha outboard has been amazing.. Good on fuel and just a flick of the key and it fires up..

I really like the layout of the MF 895 and it amazes me how they fitted two closed off double cabins in such a small boat..

Hopefully the wait for delivery isn't too long.. :)

Congrats. Look forward to all the details on how she performs and your thoughts after a few months ownership in comparison to the sc35. When are you expecting delivery?

Thanks. Good to know you're pleased with the Yam.

Thankyou. TBH, I don't think the comparison would be a level one. We fully expect the MF to be a much bumpier ride but then again, our boating will be quite different too. More day boating and overnighters in fair weather than longer hauls like we did in the SC35 altho' the MF will cope well on long trips too if we do the odd one.
Delivery not til November so no boating for us this summer :(.

Congrats on both the sale and her replacement.
I like the MF's, well thought out boats

Thanks Mav.

Can you imagine? LOL
