Dear all,

I had my two lead-acid batteries replaced in my First 35 by two Li Fe Po4 batteries here in Plymouth. I have done some research and apparently the risk of fire is quite low in these batteries but my issue is that they are located under one of the berths with ventilation coming from an intake astern. I heard that they may release toxic gases and being under a berth with lots of gaps covered only by the mattress worries me a bit. Does anyone has any thoughts or experience on this?
Thanks
Jonas

The only emit toxic gasses (fluoride) if they go on fire and, as you say, fire risk is very low. Your BMS should be monitoring temperature and create an over-temperature alarm
