Lighting

Do you have a budget in mind?

Ebay has provided me with remote controlled dimmable lighting from high Kelvin to low warm Kelvin.

Warm gives a pleasant atmosphere, higher Kelvin (blueish tint) makes the work space / work bench and engine bay seem brighter and things more visible to me, at least.

I second William_H's suggestion that what you look for is "COB" LED strip, "Chip On Board" which looks like a continuous glow, rather than normal LED strip which looks like a row of bright points. It's much easier on the eyes at a given brightness. I fitted dimmable COB LED, very happy with it. I had some concerns about whether the dimmer would affect VHF but seems ok.

My first go-to would be Furneaux Riddall in Portsmouth e.g. Strip Lights because they are generally cheaper than a chandlers and have a much wider range. Amazon can be good but you risk buying something cheap and rather nasty and I have wasted money trying to be cheap.
Normally I'd agree - but I got four LED strip lights on eBay from a guy in China for less than £7 delivered - expecting nothing, and here we are 8 years later and they're still running fault free... I fully accept I my have got lucky...
