As this is my first time on this section of the forum, I'm not sure if the following book has been discussed before. Its called 'Attention All Shipping' by Charlie Connelly.

Its basically a trip around the shipping forecast areas. It is partially anecdotal in style, mixed in with historical facts.

Its a great little book that you can pick up and put down at any time. It was one of Radio 4's 'books of the week' back in 2004.

A great read in an informative, gentle way.

This was our first reading club entry, unfortunately it was me he suggested it.

If you read Nas's thread 'reading club' and my subsequent 'So sorry' thread it shows you to be a minority of actually enjoying the book.

As I said and it seems others thought the same, no-one warmed to the author and found his writing un-enjoyable.
