Having booked the engine on for repair on the Tuesday following the Late May Bank Holiday the yard in Brightlingsea has finally told me (following my phone call to them to chase up) that they are just too busy to repair my engine, they think I should try and use the boat and let them repair it over the winter. Using oil at about 3 litres every 4 or 5 hours I am not that keen on that option!! I have only been using the yard for about 10 years - Customer Service doesn't seem very high on their agenda!
So decision made. Karouise comes out of water on Thursday and a friend and his mate will be fixing the engine while I watch! Lift out is expensive but just makes whole process much easier. Then with the boat ashore and the warmer weather (sorry, warmer than over the winter) there is no excuse for me not getting on with the internal refit that has been waiting since I bought the boat in 2009 - nothing along the lines of Phoenix, I don't have that amount of patience or skill.
So stand by for stupid questions!!
PS If you need a job doing in a rush don't ask Nagrom Marine in Brightlingsea to do it!
