6 Person liferaft survey fee:- £104.00
Torch batteries:- £ 4.05
3 x Red hand flares:- £ 18.30
Sea sick tabs:- £ 3.15
Sea sick bags:- £ 1.80
DK88 operating head:- £123.10
Paint cylinder:- £ 28.15
Hermetically Sealed Bag:- £ 48.25

Total £330.80

add the vat and you get £380.43

Yup we just had our three years service on a Viking 6 person canister - 400 Euros.

Mayday Marine did my 17 year old 6 man avon - weighs a sodding ton. They showed me it inflated and went through every item inside, things that I would not have recognised, and key things like the overpressure vent plugs which you put in after inflation. Cost £160. He reconned its so heavily made (neoprene) that it will last at least another 15 years!

With the use of a vacuum cleaner and some knowledge a diy job is easy enough for a yachtie who maintains their own boat! after all what good is financial recourse to you when it doesnt open? better to check it and maintain yourself????
