They are not that much cheaper than a PLB, and wont call out the rescue services by satellite if radio fails.. I would not prioritise PLBs above harness and decent lifejacket. Stay on boat by means of harness. And if the worst should ever happen - which it probably never will -stay on damaged boat until it sinks, remember that a man or woman with bucket can shift a lot of leaking water while waiting for rescue, and a boat is a bigger target for RNLI to find than a small head in the waterWhat do think of these as a less expensive alternative to PLBs?
