I too had narrowed my selection down to the Kru and the Spinlock. In the end I went with the Kru and I am happy with my choice. The Kru did have an integral sprayhead and crotchstraps but no light.
One other point is that the Kru is 175N whereas the Spinlock is 150N - I decided, rightly or wrongly, that the extra 25N would come in handy with my ever expanding midriff.
An interesting thing happened this afternoon. After reviewing all the posts (for which I am really grateful) I checked the three companies offering the Spinlock Deckvest at around 14:00 to check that all three still had the product at the discounted price, all three had, but one (Network) did not list the medium size which I intended ordering.
After finishing some work at 18:00 I got the card out and decided to place an order, strangely both suppliers still had the product I wanted but strangely in both cases it had suddenly reverted to the manufacturers recommended retail price.
Now is that not a strange coincidence, Something may have drawn Spinlocks attention to the rogue chandleries, (Google works both ways)
So I am now ordering and recommending Ocean Safety's Kru Sport Pro, it is suddenly much more comfortable, much better value and is Yachting Monthly Best buy. Some of you have already made this clear so I suspect the attraction of the Spinlock to me was just marketing hype.
I don't blame the retailers, I suspect that they were reminded where they had to get the overpriced stuff from.
Correction Marinescene in Cardiff are still doing it for £179, unfortunately they seem to be charging £14 to send it to Scotland, but the the Welsh never did get on with the Scots!
The recommended retail price went up by about a tenner today too.
