When the life jackets innards are due replacement I jump in with it on.
Who else does this? Do you know what your contraptions actually feel like?
And for what it’s worth I don’t usually wear a crotch strap. An informed decision from use of my lifejacket in the water. If wearing a LJ offshore yes. But if offshore I don’t usually wear a lifejacket I just don’t go in bad weather and I’m simply not going to fall off my boat in good weather. No foredeck work on a mobo.
Actually I don’t usually wear a lifejacket on board the boat. Dinghy almost always. At night always.
The riskiest bit is between the car and the boat and way too many people keep their lifejackets on the boat. When you stumble off the marina any floatation will help get you to the nearest ladder.
