Life under pressure

I searched

for about three years for a stainless-steel pressure cooker without long handles to make it easy stowing.

Finally asked in one of the John Lewis shops if they had one which they denied and found a Tefal which fitted the bill perfectly.

Unfortunately lost the weight overboard, phoned up Tefal (UK), on recommendation of the French parent and they sent me a replacement FOC in the post. Admittedly they had replaced the model with a range of 3 sizes, so it was obsolescent.

So pleased with tyheir response that I bought one of the latest to replace the 33 year old Prestige we had.

Superb results - quicker and bigger.

Most valuable use for the Optima on the boat is for cooking epinards, you know how large spinach bulks, and it only takes 2' to cook. Also frequently make up long-trip stews, which stay on top of the gimballed stove.

The latest Tefal pressure cooker has a very good quadrilingual cook-book (English, French, Nederlanden and Italian) with it - interestingly the recipes in each language are for typical recipes in that particular country.
